Recommendations for messaging consults if ongoing questions arise
A Chat Consult is a secure, text‑based medical visit conducted through Google Chat. Instead of a video call, you and the doctor communicate through real‑time messaging. This is ideal for quick questions, follow‑ups, and concerns that don’t require a live video assessment.
Chat Consults are ideal for concerns that can be handled through messaging, including:
Medication questions or clarifications
Follow‑up concerns after a previous visit
Mild symptoms that don’t require video assessment
Work or school notes
Return‑to‑duty documentation
General wellness questions
Ongoing monitoring or updates
Quick medical advice
Sharing photos (rash, injury, etc.) when video is not necessary
If your concern requires visual assessment or real‑time interaction, you may be directed to a Video Consult instead.
At your scheduled appointment time, you will receive an email notification from the doctor letting you know your consult is starting. You will also receive a direct Google Chat message sent to the email you provided during booking.
